When people think of juggling, the things that come to mind are usually: balls, clowns and Chris.

These days, everyone I know seems either to be able to juggle, or is sufficiently used to others doing so that they can watch someone trying, say, Five Balls Mills Mess, and comment only "Ooh, that's quite pretty". Back in 1994, in my second year at University, I knew only one person who could juggle. He could do three balls and was working on three clubs, but my friends and I were in awe of him. And several of us started juggling. I don't think he was very impressed.

A couple of years later, Chris picked up some of my juggling balls. He'd been in the same room as them many times, but this had never happened before. He threw them all over the place with such vigour that I can only assume he didn't like my furniture. But it was a start. He became addicted.

I didn't do very much for a couple of years, but then circumstances did that circumly thing they do, and Chris and I ended up as housemates. He was now the owner of several dozen balls and clubs, and a juggler of several items.

So I started juggling again. Five balls pretty.

Chris' juggling page has a few links, which saves me adding any here. He'll probably go and move them now.
